Dr. Shurman graduated Magna Cum Laude from Yale University and obtained his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency at UCLA and has a strong background in clinical research. Dr. Shurman completed two National Institute of Mental Health post-doctoral research fellowships at UCLA and won the prestigious NARSAD (National Alliance for Research in Schizophrenia and Depression) award. After leaving the faculty track at UCLA, Dr Shurman has maintained a private practice in Los Angeles. He is board certified in Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and Adult Psychiatry. Dr. Shurman brings over 20 years of clinical expertise specializing in treatment-resistant patients. His approach emphasizes personalized care, strong therapeutic alliances, and cutting-edge medical treatments.

Dr. Shapiro studied Neurobiology at Cornell University and Medicine, Psychiatry, and Geriatric Psychiatry at UCLA. He is board certified in Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and is certified by the American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry. He has extensive experience with complex mental health conditions, complex characterological issues, and eating disorders. Previously an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, he has trained medical students, residents, fellows, and nursing staff throughout Los Angeles and has been the Clinical and Medical Director for multiple eating disorder programs. He has written chapters in textbooks for Andrew Weil and the Oxford textbook on Geriatrics and is active in research in Psilocybin.

As a veteran technology executive with over 25 years of experience, Masahji brings crucial expertise in AI and advanced technology integration to Pacific Neuromodulation. He has served as CTO, Chief Architect, and executive leader, developing strategic solutions for major companies including Yahoo!, AT&T, Disney, Ticketmaster, City Search, and others. As a career technology founder, Masahji has been on the ground floor or founding team of numerous technology startups and has consistently demonstrated his ability to build and scale innovative platforms across multiple industries. He currently serves as an adjunct professor of Computer Science at Loyola Marymount University and as a Computer Science advisory board member at Santa Monica College Department, mentoring future technologists. He is also a speaker at industry conferences on topics related to Artificial Intelligence and Software Architecture. Masahji's extensive technology leadership experience enables Pacific Neuromodulation to remain on the cutting edge at scale, while his modern approach to innovation and customer service ensures patients receive the highest quality individualized care available.

Wei-I Wang, Ph.D. Wei-I graduated with honors from the University of Chicago and earned her Ph.D. in Political Science (with an emphasis on quantitative methods) from UCLA. She applied those quantitative skills in market research and institutional research before leaving the workforce to become a full-time mom. Wei-I has volunteered with numerous organizations helping low-income children. She coached low-income students through the college application and essay writing process with UpChieve and E.S.T., and tutored elementary students in phonics for Reading Partners at the local public elementary school. She has now joined Pacific Neuromodulation as Director of Clinical Care, where she employs her statistical expertise to analyze clinical data within a caring, compassionate environment.
